  • POP access is needed to turn on via web interface
  • now click “gear icon” in the top right corner
  • Select options
  • Depend on the UI version
  • Now click “Mail/Accounts/POP and IMAP
  • In POP options
  • Select Yes
  • On the options pane click “Connect devices and apps with POP” link.
  • Now In the “POP” section mark “Enable”

SSL: true-explicit

Port: 587 (default)

Hotmail Livemail Server Setting To Setup Outlook via IMAP

  • First open Outlook
  • Now before setup Outlook 2007/2010/2013
  • Go to Microsoft outlook startup screen should now be open
  • Click Next
  • Select yes to the would you like to configure an E-mail account
  • Click Next again
  • Click tools menu
  • Click Account settings
  • Select E-mail tab and then click New button
  • Choose E-mail service screen
  • Select Microsoft Exchange POP3, IMAP or HTTP
  • Click Next
  • Click on the File tab
  • Click the Info menu item
  • Click Add account button
  • Auto Account setup screen will be in view
  • Select Manually configure server settings or additional server types option
  • Click on Next
  • For outlook 2013
  • Select POP or IMAP option
  • Choose service screen
  • Click Next option
  • Auto Account setup screen will be in view

Enter your details into the Internet E mail settings

  • Now enter your name
  • Your email address
  • For account type option
  • Choose IMAP
  • For Incoming mail server type imap-mail.outlook.com
  • For outgoing mail server: field type smtp-mail.outlook.com
  • User Name: [enter your full email address ie. yourname@hotmail.com]
  • Password: [enter your email password] & leave the Remember password box checked
  • Click on More settings button
  • Select outgoing server tab
  • Click on My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication box
  • Use same settings as incoming mail server option is mentioned
  • Select the Advanced tab
  • Enter port details as follows: Incoming server (IMAP): 993
  • Now use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL
  • Outgoing server SMTP: 587
  • Now leave other settings at defaults
  • Click on OK to close the More Settings option
  • Click Next > on the Internet E-mail Settings screen
  • Send a test message to the outgoing server
  • If outlook is successful you will see 2 green ticks
  • Click close button
  • Now Test Account Settings popup
  • You will see a message of Congratulations!
  • Click on Finish
